(The interviews of mr Trepassi are work of fantasy)
This evening the ineffable correspondent of Teleshelburn sent this bewildering interview to me.
- Good morning, lady Gaia -
- I'm not married, call me "Miss Gaia", please -
- Aren't you married ? -
- No, I'm not. You know, I don't know any good catch in these parts. -
- What do you say of Mars, the god of war ? -
- I don't like wars, they scorch my skin, and anyway that chap isn't that much, he's a real bluff. How do you picture...a rough warrior ? -
- Tall, strong, impressive -
- And look at him...he's the half of me, as far as the radius is concerned, to say nothing of the weight. -
- But, his character ? -
- Don't talk to me of it. He's a spineless planet, a timid one. Tell him something spicy and he soon goes red in his (sur)face. -
- That's it, they call him "the red planet" just for this, don't they ? -
- They suggested Jupiter, but he is too fat ! -
- What about Saturn ? -
- Ah, that one... -
- What don't you like of Saturn ? -
- He wanted to give me his ring. -
- All the more that he has nine of them. -
- The famous ring of Saturn -
- Didn't you like it ? -
- How could I marry someone that has got 62 moons ? How could he take care of all of them ? Just think that he gave names to 53 of them, only. -
- And the other nine ? -
- I hope he will give the nine rings to them, at least. -
- That sounds very regrettable, I admit. And what about the other planets ? -
- Oh, I feel them so cold and faraway... -
- Mercury ? -
- The little one who's always rushing around the Sun...? -
- Oh, I see, but I came for another question.-
- Come on. -
- There are people who tell mankind is the cancer of the planet, and you should revenge. -
- Oh, what a nonsense, and why on earth, that is, "why on myself" ? I find them delightful. Besides, who else does put things in order, who does clean the country ? What other species does make it ? -
- But they dirty, too ! -
- Oh, yes, those little funny rascals... but a mother loves her own little children. -
- And all that CO2 ? -
- Oh that one, just think that my sister Venus has got even poisoned by that, and what shall I say of that Mars whom you suggested as my husband ? He is a CO2 addict, as well. They both are proud of their 95 percent, and more, of CO2 ! They think they're very smart ! -
- But aren't you afraid there is too much of it ? -
- I'm not so stupid, like Venus or Mars, I have life, plants, animals and other methodes to put CO2 in a cycle and keep it at levels that, on the contrary, do rather well, because we must thank CO2, water and Sun if plants exist and grow.
And in their turn they reduce the quantity of CO2 in the atmosphere. What a wonderful symbiosis and harmony ! I am very proud of it ! -
- And what about the fossil resources that are going to finish ? -
- Excuse me, but they can't pretend that fossil resources are going to finish (while they are the cause of CO2 increase), and, "at the same time", they pretend that CO2 shall go too far in an unbounded increase, when the push is finished... let them say only one of two possibilities, either fossil resources finish, or CO2 increases, because one fear contrasts with the other. -
- That's it, if there aren't fossil resources, how can CO2 dangerously increase ?
- Do you see ? You've got it. -
- Therefore you aren't afraid of mankind, are you ? -
- Me ? On the contrary, they are my hope. You see, in the universe there are so many dangers, black holes and so on, and there are so many wandering asteroids, even big ones. It's a kind of lapidation. I defend myself from the little ones, but what if a big one arrives ?
- What should happen ? -
- Who knows ? But do you think that salmons or polecats could save me ?
- No, I don't think so. -
- My only hope is therefore mankind. My hope, not my cancer. -
- Thank you, miss Gaia, that was very kind of you. -
Trepassi went away, and he felt light-hearted. In his hands he had a copy of a gory video with blown up chidren. He looked at it, and after giving another quick look to Gaia, he threw the video into the rubbish.

Ecological footprint and expetancy of life
The only species that can do anything to save others is mankind. But only if mankind goes on on the way to progress. No cat, no snake, no hen can save bears, only mankind can. We need to love mankind, and progress.
Some people told us men are guilty, and progress is guilty, and we should stop progress, and reduce mankind. But progress means a longer life. In ancient times life expetancy was very poor, and progress increased it very much. Was it a fault, or a merit ?
Compare life expetancy in different countries:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_life_expectancy
with that unscientific index called "ecological footprint"
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ecological_footprint
and you will understand what progress mean... more life, and what ecological footprint means...less life !
In my opinion

I think it is very interesting.
If you want to understand the climate, it is a must.

Even the air we breath
"They have taxed and made a profit even from the air we breath"
(Gianni Pettinari)
I am proud to start my blog with a sentence by my friend Gianni Pettinari, which is a splendid synthesis of the whole CO2 affair, in my opinion.
It looked difficult to be able to tax the air we breath, but they were able to do it, and on account of a mere hypothesis.
Actually, the sole reason is the precautionary principle, which is not a physical or scientific principle, and if we would adopt it, there wouldn't be any activity, because in every activity there exists a risk. We shouldn't go out, because there is risk, and we couln't stay in, because there is risk, even there. there are so many domestic accidents...
